A Cinematic News Tidbit


Peterborough Examiner, January 16th, 1939.

The full edition of “This Week in Peterborough” for 1939 will be posted tomorrow on Friday, but I thought I’d share the little morsel above with you beforehand.  As I’m sure you know, not only were the reports of Miss Leigh’s casting absolutely true, but the film itself went on to become, by some measures, the most successful movie of all time.

‘Til tomorrow then, when we discuss what else was going on in Peterborough and environs in the middle of January, 1939!  And oh, the international news was not good…
